Phu Thap Boek
Phu Thap Boek in Phetchabun is the province's highest peak. The weather is cool, though not throughout the year. A local resident recommended visiting in the rainy season or winter. There is a 7-Eleven and a PT petrol station on the way up; fill up and buy the food you want before climbing the mountain. Accommodation is plentiful, but restaurants are limited. Many lodgings sell Thai barbecue sets to enjoy outside your room. The viewpoint is beautiful, with views of the winding road you travelled up.

Scenic mountain drives at Phu Thap Boek
The atmosphere was lovely, though not very cold as we visited in the rainy season. Light rain continued along the road and the mist was thick. The road was less steep than expected, and small cars could manage it, though there were many bends, some of them dangerous.
